Tall Ar-Rimah Dairy Pilot Project 2000-2006: A Case Study in the Badia Region of Jordan. International Journal of Business Innovation and Research (IJBIR), Vol.5, No.1, pp101-126, 2011.
Since 1992, BRDC began the process of identifying constraints on development and suggested where developmental potential exists. A main objective of BRDC is to assist Bedouin farmers in making rational, long-term sustainable decisions about their livestock activities; to intensify the current production systems, increase their economic diversity, or indeed to leave the industry, whichever option was shown to be best for them. If these goals are successfully achieved in the target areas, such achievement can be used as a model for the rest of the country. Therefore, BRDC suggested the implementation of a comprehensive community-based project in Tall Ar-Rimah, expected to improve the quality of the rangeland and to contribute to improving the living conditions of the local Bedouin communities. The study suggested that the process of modernization in livestock production may in fact generate a wider spectrum of options for land exploitation.
