Vocational Training and Al al-Bayt University sign a cooperation agreement

In response to the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein and His Highness the Crown Prince and within the government's directions to modernize and develop the vocational training system by opening up to educational institutions to develop the vocational education sector in Jordan, the Vocational Training Corporation signed a cooperation agreement with Al al-Bayt University. The agreement aimed to implement a joint training program in line with the requirements of the labor market, where the Corporation will be enabled to set up workrooms on the university campus in the field of (aquaculture, hotel, logistics). This agreement was signed by His Excellency the Minister of Labor / Chairman of the Board of Directors, Nayef Zakaria Istitiah, on behalf of the Corporation and on behalf of the university, Prof. Hani Al-Dmour.

Istitiah stated that the Corporation is keen to strengthen partnership with all parties concerned with vocational training, to provide training and employment opportunities for male and female youth, and to contribute to government efforts that seek to provide employment opportunities for young people, as there are 36 institutes and 348 training workrooms distributed in all governorates of the Kingdom. He added that the Corporation is based on preparing a trained and qualified workforce and providing various types of vocational training programs for all target groups and productive and service institutions in the public and private sectors in cooperation with universities, bodies, civil organizations and civil society institutions.

Dr. Al-Dmour, in turn, explained the importance of signing the agreement with the Vocational Training Corporation, because it will contribute to students gaining experience before entering the labor market, and thus they will be ready to meet the requirements of the jobs they seek to work in. He pointed out that through vocational training, they will learn about the environment in which they are going to work in, perform the required tasks better, and get competitive advantages over those with degrees.

The Director General of the Vocational Training Corporation, Engineer Ahmed Mufleh Gharaibeh, displayed that within the framework of this agreement, the Corporation will provide devices and equipment that the workrooms will be equipped with, prepare, design and approve training programs, use the available training programs, supervise the implementation of the training process, participate in carrying out theoretical and practical tests, grant certificates to graduates bearing the logo of the corporation and the university, as well as provide the opportunity for candidates from Al al-Bayt University to participate in the training courses, seminars and conferences it holds.

Gharaibeh added that the Corporation, as part of its future plans, will focus on training in the field of modern technological applications, artificial intelligence, the Internet of things, robotics science and programming, and data management, in cooperation with universities and scientific institutes in the Kingdom.

It is worth mentioning that the Vocational Training Corporation has signed a number of agreements with Al Hussein Technical University / Crown Prince Foundation and the German Jordanian University, in addition to signing a number of other agreements and memoranda of understanding with the relevant authorities in the vocational and technical training sector.​
