The Department of Public Relations and Media organizes a press conference at Al al-Bayt University on the 14th Omani conference
The Department of Public Relations and Media at the university organized a press conference attended by a number of media, national and news organizations. Prof. Al-Dmour welcomed the media that are always present to cover the university's activities, and thanked them for their continuous support. He pointed out the importance of this conference, which is distinguished this year under the patronage of His Highness Royal Prince Al-Hassan bin Talal. He also indicated that the Omani Studies Unit at the university organizes this conference annually, and it will be held this year on Tuesday 19/7/2022 at ten in the morning in the auditorium of the Faculty of Engineering and in attendance of a number of officials in the Sultanate of Oman and Jordan.
Al-Dmour highlighted the royal interest in the Omani Studies Unit as a distinct unit at the level of Jordanian universities in preserving the Omani cultural heritage. In responding to the reporters' questions which focused on the unit's upcoming activities and the university's intention to launch any award in it, he said that there will be a research award that the Omani Studies Unit will announce soon in the name of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Said to be an incentive for Arab students and researchers and Jordanians to take an interest in Omani studies.
Al-Dmour also stressed that the next destination will focus on opening new centers and units to attract students and researchers from all countries of the Islamic world, specifically those looking to study the Arabic language and Islamic law, and opening joint postgraduate programs for students of all nationalities who wish to study the Omani heritage.
Prof. Anwar Al-Khalidi, Director of the Omani Studies Unit, indicated that the number of participants in the conference is up to 57 scientists and researchers from twelve Arab countries, and the Sultanate of Oman will be the main participant. Among most prominent activities of the conference is an exhibition in which a number of ministries and institutions in the Sultanate of Oman will take part in it where the most important Omani books and manuscripts will be displayed.
