Al al-Bayt holds a workshop on refugee studies

Under the patronage of the President of the University, Prof. Hani Al-Dmour, the Faculty of Graduate Studies carried out a workshop on refugee studies and their methodology. Dr. Najah Al-Shanableh, Dean Assistant of Graduate Studies, started the workshop by welcoming the attendees represented by the University President, the Dean, Prof. Mohannad Akram Nazzal, and the staff of the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Then, Dr. Balach Qamar Al-Zaman and Dr. Hana Al-Banna talked about the results of the research that was conducted in cooperation with Dr. Al-Shanableh, which investigates the perceptions and experiences of the refugee host community in Mafraq Governorate, Jordan.

Dr. Noha Al-Shdeifat also presented the results of several papers on the health of Syrian refugee women and the methodological obstacles in this type of research.

After that, Dr. Al-Shanableh displayed the methods of collecting data in research in general and the problems that researchers face in collecting data, especially in refugee studies.

It should be noted that Dr. Balach Kamaruzzaman is a Senior Lecturer in Social Policy at the University of South Wales in the United Kingdom and has conducted several researches in international development in Bangladesh, Ghana, Nigeria and Afghanistan. Dr. Hana Al-Banna is a Senior Social Researcher at the Faith Reen Foundation, Director of International Initiatives at Global One, and part-time lecturer at Hamad Bin Khalifa University - Qatar.

The workshop was attended by the Vice Dean of Graduate Studies, Dr. Abdullah Al-Adamat, a group of researchers, interested people, students at Al al-Bayt University, representatives of the local community, and a representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
