Al-Dmour meets with the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation in the Sultanate of Oman

President of Al al-Bayt University, Prof. Hani Al-Dmour, and the accompanying delegation, Prof. Mohammad Al-Harahsheh, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Prof. Anwar Al-Khalidi, Head of the Omani Studies Unit, visited the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Sultanate of Oman, where they were received by the Minister, Her Excellency Dr. Rahma bint Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi. Dr. Al Dmour expressed the university's desire to expand cooperation with the Ministry regarding the Omani Studies Unit, which was established in accordance with a generous grant from Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taymour – may God bless his soul. He indicated that the Unit is one of the most active institutes in the Middle East in the field of encouraging scientific research, holding conferences, seminars and publishing. He also discussed the possibility of offering master's and doctoral programs and establishing a chair in the name of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq - may God protect him - to support scientific research and graduate studies at the university.

Al Mahrouqi, in turn, affirmed the keenness of the Government of Oman to enhance cooperation and exchange in the field of higher education, scientific research and innovation with Al al-Bayt University and other Jordanian universities. Her Excellency presented an overview of the Sultanate of Oman's efforts in the field of innovation (Muscat Innovation Complex) as a model, pointing to the diverse services and capabilities that the Complex enjoys, which will have a role in enhancing cooperation between researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs. She also addressed the iLab platform, which aims to help researchers to know the type and condition of research devices and equipment in the Sultanate of Oman, which researchers can benefit from in conducting scientific experiments and measurements. She further explained the Ministry's role in the connection between the academic and industrial sectors, as the Ministry is working to monitor and analyze challenges in the industrial sector and encourage private sector initiatives to fund scientific research for the purpose of finding scientific solutions to these challenges
