The Faculty of Law at Al al-Bayt University organized a seminar entitled “Constitutional Judiciary and the Protection of Fundamental Rights" with the participation of Judge Taghreed Hikmat, member of the Jordanian Constitutional Court, in attendance of President of the University, Prof. Hani Al-Dmour.

Judge Hikmat explained the role played by the Constitutional Court in confirming the principle of the supremacy of the constitution and its protection, indicating that the Constitutional Court is an important achievement that reflects the keenness of His Majesty King Abdullah II to work in accordance with the foundations of a democratic country. She handled a number of decisions and provisions of the Constitutional Court pointing out that the recent constitutional amendments will expand the work of the Court by allowing the courts to send the appeals submitted before them to the Constitutional Court directly without the need to send them to the Court of Cassation first and then sent to the Constitutional Court.

The Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Eid Al-Husban, administered a discussion in which the students of the faculty participated, praising the role of the Constitutional Court in consolidating the rule of law, rights and freedoms.
