Conclusion of the Academic Senior Leadership Program to empower heads of departments and enhance the quality of education

The Al al-Bayt University’s Quality and Development Center concluded the activities of the Senior Academic Leadership Workshop for Heads of Departments, which was held under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Osama Nusier. The workshop lasted for two days with wide participation from all heads of academic departments in various faculties of the university. This intensive training course, supervised by the Academic Development Department at the center, comes within the university’s strategy to hone the capabilities of academic leaders and accurately familiarize them with their assigned tasks and duties, thus contributing to the advancement of institutional and academic performance. The Director of the Academic Development Department at the center, Dr. Amr Al-Amarain, pointed out that the head of the academic department constitutes the first and essential link between faculty members and students, explaining that the stability and quality of the educational process depend largely on the efficiency and ability of the head of the department in fairly distributing teaching loads, accurately following up on study plans, taking care of students' affairs, and applying regulations and instructions clearly and transparently. The second day of the workshop witnessed specialized sessions and qualitative topics from the course, and main themes and interactive dialogue sessions presented by a number of university specialists. Three themes were presented by Dr. Amjad Qutaish, Director of the E-Learning Center, on how to deal with the electronic learning platform, while the Computer Center, represented by the Programming Department, presented how to access the electronic portal. The workshop concluded with the quality and accreditation theme presented by Dr. Muhammad Al-Shanwan and Dr. Hussam Ananza from the Quality and Planning Center, where the workshop, over two days, highlighted the most prominent tasks associated with the head of the department.
