The University Hosts a Delegation from the National Center for Research and Development and Holds an Introductory Workshop for its Faculty on the National Center for Research and Development

The Acting President of the University, Professor Ahmed Al-Alaونة, received a delegation from the National Center for Research and Development, headed by Dr. Muhammad Al-Wedyan, in the presence of the Vice Presidents. During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation between the University and the Center in the research and scientific fields, in addition to exchanging academic and scientific experiences in a way that contributes to supporting and developing the scientific research process.

Dr. Al-Alawnah also emphasized the University's vision aimed at strengthening scientific and research partnerships with various national institutions, in a way that contributes to developing the academic environment and raising the level of scientific research, in addition to supporting innovation and exchanging experiences in a way that serves students, researchers, and the local community.

The University, in cooperation with the National Center for Research and Development and through the Water Research Center, also held an introductory workshop on the programs and activities of the National Center for Research and Development, in the presence of the Vice President of the University for Community and International Affairs, Professor Hani Akho Arshida, and a number of deans of faculties, faculty and administrative staff, and laboratory supervisors at the Center, in the Conferences and Activities Hall.

The Director of the Water Research Center, Dr. Ibrahim Hamdan, explained that holding this workshop embodies the University's joint commitment to promoting scientific research, exchanging experiences, and building effective partnerships between academic and national institutions, in a way that serves the issues of sustainable development in the fields of water, environment, and energy. He indicated that it aims to introduce the role of the National Center for Research and Development and its research programs, and to explore avenues of cooperation with Al al-Bayt University, based on the directives of the University's presidency, which recently culminated in the signing of a memorandum of understanding and the establishment of a permanent liaison office for the Center inside the University, in a step that reflects the commitment of both sides to promoting applied research and serving national issues.

The President of the National Center for Research and Development, Dr. Muhammad Al-Wedyan, affirmed in his speech about the Center's programs, activities, tasks, and partnerships that it stems from the Jordanian national vision and under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein, to strengthen the link between scientific research and public policies, and to consolidate the approach of interdependence between water, energy, food, and environmental systems as a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development.

He stressed that the Center, by linking knowledge with action, seeks to make Jordan a model in achieving a balance between development and environmental sustainability, and ensuring a prosperous and resilient future for people and nature, and that science and innovation constitute the basic structure for a sustainable future. He pointed out the pioneering role played by the Center in strengthening and building scientific and technological capabilities in Jordan, and that the Center is concerned with scientific research and development to organize joint scientific activities, and also aims to develop scientific capabilities in the fields of biotechnology, water, energy, food, the environment, and desert research, noting that the Center is working to build a network of strategic partnerships at the local and international levels, through cooperation with prestigious research institutions, and the implementation of joint research projects, in addition to cooperation with universities, research centers, and the public and private sectors, and explaining the Center's vision, which is to develop scientific capabilities in a way that contributes to achieving sustainable development.

Dr. Al-Wudyan also explained and presented some of the projects supported by the Center in the innovation system through dedicated programs to support emerging companies in vital sectors, explaining the Center's tasks in supporting applied scientific research, encouraging invention and creativity, and promoting the establishment of economic companies based on research and development outputs, in addition to developing human resources working in the fields of research and development, and building research communication networks between Jordanian researchers and their counterparts in various countries of the world.

Engineer Omar Al-Sawalma from the National Center presented an explanation and presentation of the Center's new website, which contained updated and new information for the Center, while Dr. Khaled Al-Masaeid presented a presentation on the programs and projects that were implemented and designed in the Badia in the water, food, energy and environment sectors, while Engineer Nawras Al-Jazi concluded the lecture with a brief explanation of the programs and activities of the Badia Research Department.

The representative of the President of the University, Akho Arshida, honored the President of the Center, Al-Wudyan, with the University's shield, while the participants in the workshop from the National Center were honored with certificates of appreciation.
