Launch of the training program for the Mafraq Entrepreneurship Hackathon 2026 at Al al-Bayt University

At Al al-Bayt University, represented by the Center of Excellence for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the activities of the training program for the "Mafraq Hackathon for Entrepreneurship 2026" launched today, Sunday, May 17, 2026. The hackathon is implemented by the Irada Initiative, under the patronage of the Vice President of the University for Community Affairs and International Relations, Professor Dr. Hani Akhu Arshideh, and with the presence of Ms. Safa Al-Halh, Director of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Component at the Irada Initiative, advisors to the Mafraq Center, Dr. Hatem Al-Masaeed, Director of the Center of Excellence for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Mr. Tariq Al-Amoush, Head of the Business Incubators Division.

The hackathon is organized within the framework of joint efforts aimed at empowering youth and promoting a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation, by providing a practical and interactive training environment that helps participants develop innovative entrepreneurial ideas and transform them into applicable projects that contribute to supporting the local economy and creating sustainable job opportunities in the Mafraq Governorate.

The hackathon witnessed a wide turnout from the youth of the governorate, with the number of registrants via the hackathon’s electronic platform reaching 173 participants. 30 participants were selected to join the training program, after an evaluation and study process of the submitted entrepreneurial ideas.

The intensive training program, which extends over five days, includes a series of workshops and specialized practical sessions presented by the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship, focusing on developing entrepreneurial ideas and transforming them into applicable prototypes, in addition to training participants on market analysis, identifying target groups, building market entry plans, and mechanisms for accessing funding and investment opportunities.

The program organizers emphasized the importance of these initiatives in honing the skills of young people and motivating them to innovate and engage in entrepreneurial work, which enhances the role of universities and national institutions in supporting the entrepreneurship system and sustainable economic development.
