The Faculty of Educational Sciences at the University Organizes a Lecture for its Students on "Promoting Inclusive Education Through the Use of Assistive Technology"
The Faculty of Educational Sciences, in cooperation with the German Organization GIZ, the CBM organization, and the Al-Nahda Association for Persons with Disabilities, organized a training workshop for the faculty's students entitled "Promoting Inclusive Education Through the Use of Assistive Technology," in the Centennial Hall at the faculty, in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dr. Youssef Al-Miqdadi, a number of faculty members, and students of the faculty.
During the workshop, Professor Dr. Saleh Al-Sharafa and Professor Dr. Ehsan Al-Khalidi spoke, where Al-Sharafa explained during his intervention the importance of promoting inclusive education through the employment of assistive technology, pointing out that this event aims to raise awareness among educational personnel of the importance of integrating students with disabilities into the educational environment, and providing them with the skills and technological tools necessary to support their learning, in a way that contributes to enhancing their active participation in the educational process.
Al-Khalidi also stressed the need to develop modern educational strategies that take into account the needs of students with disabilities, and enhance the principle of equal opportunities in education. Dr. Al-Sharafa also addressed mechanisms for preparing educational materials in accessible formats suitable for students with disabilities, in addition to reviewing international and local legislation that guarantees their right to learn in inclusive schools, pointing to the most prominent challenges facing the implementation of inclusive education in Jordan.
At the conclusion of the workshop, an interactive discussion took place between the lecturers and the attendees, during which opinions were exchanged and inquiries were raised about the themes of the workshop.
