"Conclusion of the Design Thinking Course within the “Ideas Towards Innovation” Program"

The Center of Excellence for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Al al-Bayt University concluded the implementation of the Design Thinking course, as part of the "Ideas Towards Innovation - Lighthouse of the North" program, which came as a continuation of the Innovation Marathon that was held on the university campus on Monday, December 22, 2025, in cooperation between the Entrepreneurship Network in the North (through the Musawa Center for Local Community Development, the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development - Effort, and the Center of Excellence for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Al al-Bayt University) and Ebtekar Consulting, within the Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Economic Development and Employment (E4DE) project implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union to promote sustainable job opportunities in Jordan.

The course aimed to provide participants from university students and members of the local community with the practical skills necessary to analyze societal problems and formulate innovative solutions based on the design thinking methodology, in a way that contributes to transforming entrepreneurial ideas into applicable project models in the sectors of agricultural technology, tourism, enabling information technology, and energy.

The training included intensive interactive sessions that focused on understanding the needs of beneficiaries, generating ideas, building prototypes, and testing solutions, in addition to specialized mentoring sessions that supported participants in developing their ideas and preparing to move to more advanced stages within the program track.

Director of the Center of Excellence for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Hatem Al-Masaeed, affirmed that this course comes within the framework of his continuous efforts to enhance the innovation and entrepreneurship system in the north of the Kingdom, and to empower young people with the tools of entrepreneurial thinking in a way that contributes to creating sustainable job opportunities and stimulating local economic development.​
