Al al-Bayt University participates in the Jordanian Arabic Language Academy's celebration of the International Day of the Arabic Language.
Al al-Bayt University participated in the celebration of the Jordanian Arabic Language Academy, on Thursday, December 18, 2025, of the International Arabic Language Day, in a scientific and cultural event that affirmed the central position of the Arabic language as a carrier of identity, a vessel of values, and an effective tool in building human and civilizational awareness.
The participation of Al al-Bayt University, with the presence of Dr. Nart Qakhoun, representing Al al-Bayt University, is a renewed affirmation of the university's constant keenness to interact positively with major linguistic and intellectual issues, and its belief in its scientific and cultural role in serving the Arabic language, and enhancing its presence in the academic and societal space, as a pillar of knowledge and a lever of identity and belonging.
Dr. Fahmi Jad'aan delivered the celebration lecture, entitled "The Arabic Language and the Promotion of Values," in which he presented a deep philosophical approach, through which he sought to deconstruct the complex relationship between language and value systems, reviewing the multiplicity of philosophical perspectives on the concept of value, and explaining how language, through its semantic and pragmatic mechanisms, can be a tool to promote and consolidate values, or - on the contrary - a means to distort or betray them when misused.
In a speech during the celebration, Professor Dr. Muhammad Adnan Al-Bakhit, President of the Jordanian Arabic Language Academy, affirmed the pivotal role played by the Academy in protecting the Arabic language, preserving its integrity, developing its tools, and keeping pace with the challenges of the times, especially in light of the rapid digital and knowledge transformations.
This celebration comes in a national and Arab context that affirms that the Arabic language is not just a cultural symbol, but a renewed civilizational project, in which knowledge intersects with values, and the university meets the academy, in a horizon of conscious partnership that seeks to consolidate Arabic as a language of thought, a space for ethics, and a bridge for creative human communication.
