Department of Applied Geography in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities Organizes a Training Workshop Entitled "Analysis of Aerial Photographs and Remote Sensing"

The Department of Applied Geography at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities organized a training workshop entitled "Analysis of Aerial Photographs and Remote Sensing" on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. It targeted students of the Department of Applied Geography and was presented by Dr. Atef Al-Ghumaid.


During the workshop, Dr. Al-Ghumaid discussed the basics of analyzing aerial photographs and the applications of remote sensing techniques in geographical studies. The workshop highlighted the interpretation of spatial changes and the comparison of aerial photographs of different regions in Jordan, in addition to practical training on the use of ERDAS Imagine and ArcGIS programs in analyzing aerial photographs and identifying geographical phenomena, which contributes to enhancing students' spatial analysis and scientific inference skills.


The workshop was attended by the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Ayed Taran, the Head of the Department of Applied Geography, Dr. Maisoun Al-Zghoul, the Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Hassan Al-Harbi, Dr. Hamza Bani Khaled, Dr. Bashar Al-Khawaldeh, and Eng. Aida Al-Khalif, in addition to a number of students from the Department of Applied Geography, stressing the importance of such workshops in enhancing the applied and cognitive aspects and linking them to modern developments in geographical technologies.​​
