Al al-Bayt University, in cooperation with the "Yalla Noshareq Yalla Natahazzab" initiative, organizes the Visions of Modernization Conference "Youth are the Focus of Attention."
On behalf of the President of the University, Professor Osama Nusier, and in the presence of the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Ahmed Alimat, and the Vice President of the University for Community Affairs, Professor Hani Akhu Arshida, the session of the "Modernization Visions" conference, entitled "Youth: The Focus of Attention," was sponsored. The conference was organized by the University through the Political Education Department at the Deanship of Student Affairs, in cooperation with the "Yalla Nsharek Yalla Nithazab" initiative, with the participation of a selection of Excellencies, members of the Senate and House of Representatives, and in the presence of faculty members and university students, in the Al-Bakhit Amphitheater at the university.
Professor Hani Akhu Arshida, representing the President of the University, began the opening by welcoming the university's guests in the name of its President, Nuseir, expressing the university's embrace of many activities that concern youth awareness and political participation, stressing that the victorious Hashemite leadership and the solid armed forces are the biggest symbol of political awareness.
Professor Ahmed Alimat explained Al al-Bayt University's endeavor to involve its students in the political modernization process, which His Majesty the King pays great attention to, considering it a beacon of intellectual enlightenment and a laboratory for building national awareness. He also stressed that the modernization of the political system can only be achieved by strengthening the culture of political participation among young people, pointing out that the university, through its administration, seeks to link education with citizenship by encouraging its students to engage in dialogue and systematic political openness, in a way that enhances their abilities for critical thinking and conscious participation in building the future of Jordan.
The head of the Yalla Nsharek Yalla Nithazab initiative, Saif Al-Islam Bani Mustafa, pointed to the importance of consolidating the mindset of political modernization among university youth, and called on young people to move from being spectators to being key players in political life, and for young people to find participation and a place for themselves in political life, stressing that the political project constitutes an incubator for addressing economic challenges, foremost of which are poverty and unemployment.
In the first session, which was entitled "Visions of Modernization in the Context of Comprehensive Development of Political, Economic, and Administrative Tracks," the former minister and professor of political science, Dr. Amin Muhanna Al-Mashaqa, and the head of the Youth and Sports Committee in the House of Representatives, Muhammad Al-Maharma, spoke.
Al-Mashaqa explained that modernization is the transition of society from a traditional state to a modern state with political, social, and economic elements and aspects, pointing to awareness, knowledge, and moving societies from one stage to another, and indicating the necessity of youth involvement in national issues. There must be educated national leaders who raise the level of state institutions and expand the base of political participation, and that political reform is a lever that contributed to the modernization of many laws, and that the Kingdom has gone through a stage of political adaptation through party participation in parliament.
