Professor Saleh Sweilem Al-Shara'at, a faculty member at the Faculty of Educational Sciences at Al al-Bayt University, participated in a high-level dialogue meeting with the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed, which was devoted to discussing issues of persons with disabilities and promoting the role of their organizations at the local and international levels.

The meeting came in the context of following up on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals for 2023, where discussions focused on the central slogan "Leaving No One Behind," which directly intersects with the provisions of the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which Jordan is one of the first countries to ratify and include in its national legislation.

The meeting addressed ways to support the systems of rights of persons with disabilities through the institutions and programs of the United Nations, with the aim of enabling their organizations to play their role in protection and active participation in society.

The participants also discussed the importance of providing comprehensive social protection, ensuring opportunities for quality education and decent work, in addition to promoting the political and civil participation of persons with disabilities.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Ms. Amina Mohammed stressed the United Nations' full commitment to supporting the full inclusion of persons with disabilities and ensuring their active participation in various international programs and policies.
