Towards discovering the mother of beauty and working in the field of tourism in Italian.

Within the framework of activities sponsored by Al al-Bayt University and in cooperation with the Cultural Office of the Italian Embassy in Amman, the Italian Language Department at the Faculty of Foreign Languages organized today a training activity to the archaeological site of Umm al-Jimal, with the aim of linking academic study to the labor market in the field of tourism and identifying the opportunities available in the Italian language, in addition to training students in guiding and translation in the field of tourism, as well as promoting in the Italian language the archaeological sites in northern Jordan, in particular the site of Umm al-Jimal, which recently became part of the UNESCO World Heritage.

The activity began with a field visit to the site accompanied by Professor Samar Al-Surour (member of the Umm al-Jimal archaeological project), followed by a presentation of the history and importance of the site. This was followed by a translation workshop from Arabic to Italian of the most important brochures of the site under the supervision of Dr. Saber Mahmoud Abdel Muttaleb (Italian Language Department) and Dr. Ida Plastina (Cultural Office of the Italian Embassy).

In conclusion, on behalf of the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Khatib, Dr. Saber Mahmoud Abdel Muttaleb presented a certificate of thanks and appreciation to Professor Samar Al-Surour for her warm reception of the delegation and her efforts to make the event a success.​
