Under the patronage of the Minister of Local Administration, Engineer Waleed Al-Masri: Dr. Nusair signs a memorandum of understanding to implement an agricultural project at the university.
Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Local Administration, Engineer Waleed Al-Masri, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed today between Al al-Bayt University, the Mafraq Governorate Council, and the King Hussein bin Talal Development Area to implement a developmental and investment project.
Engineer Al-Masri congratulated the achievement of this memorandum, which is the first of its kind for partnership between national institutions and the private sector aimed at optimizing successful and sustainable projects. He pointed out the importance of spreading such initiatives and partnerships to other governorates in the kingdom and benefiting from them.
The President of Al al-Bayt University, Professor Osama Nusair , delivered a speech stating, "This memorandum came with the goal of mutual cooperation in the fields of training in logistics services, energy, computer science, artificial intelligence, business, and joint coordination in economic, investment, and research areas to attract and encourage local and foreign investments, reflecting our joint commitment to develop our community and enhance the educational environment."
Dr. Naseer highlighted that Al al-Bayt University has shown a strong commitment to providing a suitable educational environment, and we are proud of what has been developed and maintained in the university’s buildings, including the one we are celebrating today, transforming it into a venue for seminars and conferences, supported financially by various institutions, benefactors, and partners, and through the efforts of the university's engineers and technicians who managed to transform this and other buildings into an outstanding educational environment that allows our students to continue their education efficiently.
Dr. Naseer presented the university’s main achievements for this year, which include the establishment of the College of Applied Medical Sciences, which will help meet market needs for human resources in physical therapy, occupational therapy, audiology, clinical nutrition, diets, respiratory therapy, medical imaging techniques, and laboratory medical sciences, in addition to allocating university specializations and certifying them within the job qualification framework, which will be aligned with regional and international qualification frameworks.
Dr. Nusair continued, stating, "In commitment to hard work to achieve the university's vision and mission for academic and research excellence and community service, the university ranked second among Jordanian public universities and fourth among all Jordanian public and private universities in the 2025 global university rankings by THE, within the (801 - 1000) category globally. This result is the fruit of the cumulative efforts of all university staff and a true translation of the will, determination, and resolve to make Al al-Bayt University an active partner in enhancing education and elevating serious scientific research that meets community needs and reflects the efforts of all workers and the continuous follow-up of the university management."
Dr. Nusair emphasized the importance of continuing to elevate the university's status and fulfilling its academic and social responsibilities alongside the realization of the royal vision and the directives of the supreme leader for education and educational institutions.
The Chairman of the Mafraq Governorate Council, Khalil Al-Shdeifat, pointed out the significance of this memorandum, which serves as a clear signal toward enhancing local development and investment programs in the Mafraq Governorate. He noted that the project is agricultural and industrial by working on rehabilitating an artesian well and implementing agricultural projects on specified areas of the university's land.
Al-Shdeifat indicated that more than one million dinars have been allocated from the governorate council’s budget for upcoming work from the allocations for Mafraq and Balaa districts, in addition to designating land and warehouses for establishing a factory for herbal oils.
Al-Shdeifat confirmed that the project will provide job opportunities and a source of income for the university to support the needy student fund at Al al-Bayt University.
The General Director of the Mafraq Development Company, Lisa Al-Daghmi, affirmed the importance of this partnership, which will contribute to implementing mutual developmental programs and projects that serve the public interest, clarifying the region's readiness to provide all necessary support to ensure the success of these developmental projects, benefiting the nation’s citizens.
Present at the signing ceremony were the university’s vice presidents, deans, and a number of mayors and officials from the university.
