Under the patronage of the President of Al al -Bayt University, Dr. Osama Nusair, the Faculty of Law at Al al-Bayt University is organizing a seminar on election law.


The President of Al al-Bayt University, Professor Dr. Osama Nusair, sponsored a seminar organized by the Faculty of Law at Al al-Bayt University on "Electoral Law." The Commissioner of the Independent Election Commission, Dr. Raed Al-Odwan, emphasized the importance of the upcoming parliamentary elections, which are the result of the royal desire to modernize the political and legislative system and the laws governing democratic life at all political, economic, and administrative levels. 

Al-Odwan called on all segments of Jordanian society to ensure the success of the electoral process to produce a strong parliamentary council and constitutional institutions that can support the Palestinian cause and regional issues. He pointed out that the Jordanian state has worked to create an administrative and logistical environment that supports oversight bodies of the electoral process to ensure its integrity, describing it as a new opportunity for political and economic modernization.

Dr. Reem Abu Dalbouh, a member of the National Center for Human Rights, explained the role of Jordanian women and their real opportunities in the new electoral law, which addresses previous legal gaps related to the candidacy of women and youth, ensuring their effective participation in nomination and voting within a suitable legislative environment. 

Abu Dalbouh added that party participation in the electoral process has ensured a gradual increase in the number of party seats while considering the social heritage and the stereotypical image of parties in Jordanian society. She highlighted that the parliamentary quota seats were established to empower women and create a suitable environment for effective participation in political life.

The Deputy Dean of the faculty, Professor Dr. Farhan Masa'id, touched upon the practical reality of the new electoral law from a legal perspective, reviewing the legal system for appeals and legal challenges. He affirmed that the new law provides opportunities for youth and women to actively participate in local and general lists to produce a strong parliamentary council that serves the nation and the community.

The Dean of the faculty, Professor Dr. Samer Dalalah, confirmed the importance of university students' participation in the parliamentary elections and their success, emphasizing that this provides a new opportunity for modernization and development. He noted that this meeting reflects the university administration's desire to shed light on the practical reality of the electoral law and to understand the data of this political stage in the journey of the Jordanian state.

At the end of the seminar, which was attended by the Vice Presidents, Professor Dr. Ahmad Al-Olawneh, Professor Dr. Hani Akho Rashida, Professor Dr. Omar Al-Oteen, the academic and administrative staff at the university, students, and a number of interested individuals, there was an extensive dialogue and discussion where the speakers answered questions and inquiries from the students.
