Under the patronage of Dr. Abdur-Ra'uf Rawabdeh, former Prime Minister, the President of Al al-Bayt University inaugurates the scientific day activities for the College of Sharia.
With the attendance and participation of the Chief Justice Sheikh Abdul Hafiz Al-Rabta, the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom Dr. Ahmad Al-Hasanat, the Imam of the Hashemite Sanctuary Dr. Ahmad Al-Khalayleh, the Mufti of the Armed Forces Sheikh Hassan Al-Makhatra, and the Mufti of Public Security Dr. Samer Al-Hawamleh, the President of Al al-Bayt University, Professor Dr. Osama Nusair, inaugurated the scientific day organized by the Faculty of Sharia titled "The Role of Religious Institutions in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Enhancing Security and Societal Peace." During the event, His Excellency Chief Justice Sheikh Abdul Hafiz Al-Rabta spoke about the objectives of Sharia and its role in achieving security and societal peace, highlighting the legislative achievements of the Chief Justice Department that are included in the new Personal Status Law and the extensive amendments to the Law of Judicial Procedures, the establishment of a Department for Inheritances and Minor Affairs, and the creation of a unique and unprecedented alimony lending fund in Jordan. Additionally, courses on Sharia, legal, and social topics were held for those about to marry to strengthen the foundation of society with religious knowledge.
The Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, Dr. Ahmad Al-Hasanat, indicated the role of national religious institutions in safeguarding the security of the nation, emphasizing their position as the first line of defense for the country and its people. He noted the Jordanian community's trust in our religious institutions, asserting that well-constructed fatwas pave a path to security and societal peace without extremism or neglect.
Imam of the Hashemite Sanctuary Dr. Ahmad Al-Khalayleh stressed that achieving security and societal peace protects the community from intellectual and behavioral deviations that threaten individuals and groups, thus it is essential to address this by upholding religious constants and adhering to systems and laws through counseling and guidance.
For his part, the Mufti of the Armed Forces Sheikh Hasan Al-Makhatra explained the role of the Fatwa Directorate in combating extremist ideology by organizing intellectual enrichment courses at Prince Hassan College for Islamic Sciences, which qualifies imams from both inside and outside Jordan, alongside the Directorate's efforts to explain the Amman Message and promote moderate and balanced thought, while also organizing annual scientific seasons and Religious Harmony Week addressing pressing social and intellectual issues.
Meanwhile, the Mufti of Public Security Dr. Samer Al-Hawamleh clarified the Directorate's role in training, awareness, and educating public security personnel to effectively address various community issues, as well as utilizing social media to tackle emerging negative phenomena in our communities.
At the end of the scientific day, managed by the Dean of the Faculty of Sharia Professor Dr. Anas Abu Ata, State Dr. Abdul Raouf Al-Rawabdeh received a commemorative shield from the university administration in the presence of Vice Presidents Professor Dr. Ahmad Al-Alawneh, Professor Dr. Muhanned Akram, and Professor Dr. Omar Al-Attain, along with several faculty members, administrative staff, and students of the university.
