On
August 17, 1992, a royal decree was issued to establish Al al-Bayt
University where the Supplies Department was founded coinciding with the
beginnings of the university. This Department is considered one of the
main pillars of the university, as it is responsible for providing the
university with supplies such as devices, consumables, spare parts and
maintenance contracts, in accordance with the powers entrusted to it, at
a maximum of five thousand dinars. That is through contacting the
sources of importing these supplies inside or outside the Kingdom at the
best prices, conditions and quality. In addition, the department takes
over the tasks of receiving, inspecting, recording, coding, storing,
coordinating in warehouses, insuring, maintaining, inventorying,
supervising and disbursing the supplies, monitors the commodity stock
and its validity, and clears foreign imports. It also insures and
maintains the university's property and assets, including devices,
equipment, and machines, through maintenance contracts and agreements
concluded with specialized companies and institutions. The department
plays a major role in serving the local community by providing donations
to associations, schools, cultural and educational centers. Such
donations are equipment, furniture, computers, stationery and others in
support of the university for these associations and centers in line
with applicable laws and regulations.
