The Impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic and Lockdown on Female University Employees: A Sociolinguistic Case Study
The Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown have influenced the global population on personal and official levels. To mitigate fatal influences and transmission of Covid-19 within the Jordanian land, the government immediately declared a national lockdown which impacted Jordanians? lifestyle. The current study assessed the perceptions of female employees at Al alBayt University (AABU) and Yarmouk University (YU) about Covid-19 and its lockdown. To explore these perceptions, the study employed a quantitative approach as a main research tool. A sample of female employees from both universities were asked to voluntarily participate in a 25-item online questionnaire about their perceptions of Covid-19 (N=142). Data analysis proposed significant main effects of Covid-19 on women's lives. The results showed that these effects include socioeconomic and linguistic impacts.
