A Need-Analysis of Al Al-Bayt Univerity Students on their English Speaking Skills Performance after Using a Task-Based Instructional Program
This study examines the interests and needs of Al al-Bayt University students on their English speaking skills. To identify the English speaking needs and interests for 40 students under study, an English speaking checklist was utilized. A sample of 20 students (set as an experimental group) was taught for six weeks using a suggested Task-based Instructional (TBI) speaking program. To survey the students' attitudes after attending the suggested TBI program, a questionnaire was distributed among them. The findings of the study reveal that the majority of students are aware iof their need to improve their English speaking skills. In addition, the findings show that the students have positive attitudes towards the suggested TBI program in improving their English oral performance.
