Yusuf Bakkar and his approach to achieving the Arab-Islamic heritage
This research aims to shed light on the efforts of Prof. Dr. Youssef Bakkar in studying the Arab-Islamic heritage, through a statement of his approach, method of research and scientific method in achieving and criticizing this heritage, which extends on the page of our Arab-Islamic history with its civilizational compass from East to East; That is, from the countries of Arabia to Persia, with the summation that these two heritages are two important tributaries that pour into the sea of ??the rich Islamic civilization. Dr. Bakkar had bright luminaries in the field of investigation that enlighten the investigators in this path, such as his call to investigate what they are investigating, to stay away from commercial investigations, and to take care of serving the investigated text in full service by paying attention to the investigation supplements such as controlling, explaining, correcting, commenting and appending, and making scientific indexes And all artistic. For this purpose, reference was made - in the first axis of this research - to examples of his approach in his investigations from traditional Arabic books, such as his investigation of the Diwan of Rabia?s poetry, and other examples of his approach in critiquing the achieved heritage books such as the Book of Poets and Poets by Ibn Qutayba, and the mayor in The merits of poetry, its literature, and its criticism of Ibn Rashiq al-Qayrawani ... and others, in addition to mentioning examples of his approach to criticizing the investigators of traditional Arabic books, such as what he made of critical observations on the investigator of the book ?Al-Masoon fi al-Adab? by Abu Ahmed al-Askari. In the second axis of this research, Dr. Bakkar followed the same scientific footsteps in his investigations and criticism of Islamic heritage books on Persian, such as his investigation of the book ?Sir al-Muluk? by Minister Nizam al-Malik al-Tusi, and his investigation of Rubaiyat al-Khayyam, which was translated into Arabic by the great Jordanian poet Mustafa Wahbi al-Tal (Arar ). It is no secret that the critical methodology followed by Dr. Bakkar in investigating and criticizing the Arab-Islamic heritage is based on representing the spirit of scientific research, careful investigation, close considerations, and thorough knowledge of the aspects of the subject. To arrive at a private opinion based on mental deduction, and scientific extrapolation of the aspects of the phenomenon studied. In conclusion, the two researchers hope that this research has fulfilled some of its rights towards this great scholar. Because of his great contributions to the service of our Arab and Islamic heritage, whether in the field of investigation, translation, or criticism.
