enseignement/apprentissage du vocabulaire francais a un public arabophone de Jordanie : propositions et recommandations didactiques
Vocabulary acquisition is the basic element of a foreign language, which other language skills are based on. This acquisition requires from the teacher to employ several techniques and strategies. The learner too must make the effort to acquire new words. This research discusses the issue of vocabulary acquisition by Jordanian learners. Our audience is composed of Jordanian learners who have Arabic as a mother tongue and English as the first foreign language learned from the first year of school. They are registered at the university in the French department to obtain a bachelor degree in French language. They have no contact with French before entering the university. For the first part of our research, we will define some terms that have close links with our research subject. Then we will try to analyze the position of the vocabulary in the different methodological approaches. For the second part, we will try to formulate some didactic propositions which can help our students to better acquire French vocabulary.
