The activities of the Senior Academic Leadership Workshop for Heads of Departments were launched at the Quality and Development Center at Al al-Bayt University, under the patronage of the university president, Professor Dr. Osama Nusier. The workshop will continue for two days with wide participation from all heads of academic departments in various faculties of the university. This intensive training course, supervised by the Academic Development Department at the center, comes within the university's strategy aimed at honing the capabilities of academic leaders, accurately defining their tasks and duties, and informing them of the system of university laws, regulations, and instructions that govern their work, thus contributing to the advancement of institutional and academic performance. During the opening ceremony of the course, Dr. Majed Ibrahim, Assistant Director of the Center, emphasized that the pillars of academic work are the heads of departments, who represent the true interface of the university in direct dealing with students, guiding and advising them. He stressed the need for full commitment to the instructions and regulations in force to provide the best academic and institutional services, considering the departments as the vital channel and effective link with the student in the teaching process. Dr. Amr Al-Amarin, Director of the Academic Development Department at the center, pointed out that the head of the academic department constitutes the first and essential link between faculty members and students, explaining that the stability and quality of the educational process largely depend on the efficiency and ability of the head of the department in fairly distributing teaching loads, accurately following up on study plans, taking care of student affairs, and applying regulations and instructions clearly and transparently. The first day witnessed specialized sessions and qualitative topics of the course, and main topics and interactive dialogue sessions were presented by a select group of university officials and specialists. In the legal and legislative محور presented by the Director of Legal Affairs at the university, Dr. Hamza Al-Dughmi, he highlighted the university laws, regulations, and instructions related to the tasks of the head of the department, and how to employ them to protect the academic work environment.
