A lecture on the Sustainable Development Goals from a human rights perspective at Al al-Bayt University.
On behalf of the President of Al al-Bayt University, Professor Dr. Osama Nusier, the Vice President for Community Affairs and International Relations sponsored a lecture organized by the Center for Sustainable Development and Women's Empowerment in cooperation with the National Center for Human Rights, entitled "Sustainable Development Goals from a Human Rights Perspective."
The head of the Basic Rights and Freedoms Unit at the National Center for Human Rights, lawyer Issa Al-Hawaosha, spoke about the center's goals, achievements, and its role in spreading the culture of human rights and promoting its principles. He also reviewed the twenty-first annual report on the state of human rights in Jordan for the year 2024 and the sustainable development goals for the year 2030, which raise the slogan "Towards development that leaves no one behind" in order to promote awareness of the importance of linking sustainable development with the preservation of human dignity and fundamental rights and the promotion of human values.
The Vice President, Professor Dr. Hani Akhu Rsheida, stressed the importance of this lecture in spreading legal awareness among students and introducing them to the achievements of leading national institutions in the field of human rights in the Kingdom.
The Vice President, Dr. Akhu Rsheida, also presented Al-Hawaosha with a shield of honor in the name of the university in the presence of the Director of the Center for Sustainable Development and Women's Empowerment, Dr. Hatem Al-Masaeed. At the end of the lecture, which was moderated by the Head of the Community Service Division, Hanan Shdeifat, the lecturer answered students' questions and inquiries.
