College of Nursing organizes the Nursing Marathon at the University
The Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Dr. Muhammad Al-Brahma, sponsored the health marathon held and organized by the Faculty of Nursing at the University in cooperation with the strategic partner, the Municipality of Manshiyat Bani Hassan, in the university's sports hall, in the presence of a number of university students and a number of concerned faculty members.
Dean of Princess Salma Faculty of Nursing, Dr. Muhammad Barahemeh, who launched the beginning of the marathon, said that holding these events comes within a series of services provided by the university to communities with the aim of training students to deal with the difficulties they will face in the field in the future.
Lawyer Anas Jawhar spoke about the legal protection of medical and health personnel while performing their duties in accordance with Jordanian laws, where he referred to medical and health responsibility and its organization under the Medical and Health Responsibility Law.
School principal Rania Al-Ajlouni explained that such distinguished initiatives came as recommended by His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, due to his belief in the capabilities of Jordanian youth, their pioneering role, and his keenness to empower them and support their ideas and initiatives.
Course coordinator Dr. Yahya Shdefat indicated that this marathon comes as a practical training for the reality of the course.
The marathon included a clarification for the college students, where the student Israa Al-Najdi explained the reasons, challenges, and definition of stress on nurses.
The student Rahma Al-Shara also explained the units with the highest pressure on nurses and the effects of pressure on the nurse, the patient, and the health institution.
Dana Harahsheh indicated the tools for measuring professional burnout and recommendations to avoid it.
The marathon also included a PowerPoint presentation on the pressure that medical nursing staff are exposed to, as well as nursing stations that included cardiopulmonary resuscitation, wounds, emergencies, and vital signs.
In conclusion, the Dean of the College, Al-Brahma, honored the students participating in the marathon and sports activities that reflected the spirit of teamwork with honorary awards.
