The President of Al al-Bayt University, Professor Osama Nusier, sponsored the activities of the scientific symposium organized by the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences in memory of the birth of the late King Hussein, under the title "From the Founder to the Enhancer: A Continuous Journey of Achievement at Various Levels."
In his speech, delivered on his behalf by the Vice President, Professor Ahmed Alawneh, the President of the University expressed our pride and honor as we recall the chapters of the bright Jordanian journey from the Founder to the Enhancer, where the nation has steadily progressed in the fields of education, modernization, administration, and politics, and strengthening the capabilities of the armed forces and security services under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, based on the achievements of the late King Hussein, and where Jordan's voice rose in the world defending justice and peace and carrying the trust of Jerusalem and the Palestinian cause.
At the beginning of the symposium, His Excellency Professor Muhammad Talib Obeidat from the University of Science and Technology spoke about the achievements and evidence from the Founder to the Enhancer, where King Hussein led the nation with wisdom and competence for half a century, during which he established a modern state that was able to keep pace with developed countries in various fields until His Majesty King Abdullah II assumed the leadership of Jordan, continuing construction and enhancement relying on science and knowledge.
Major General (Retired) Hamdan Awad Al-Smiran also spoke about the development of the armed forces from the Founder King to the Enhancer King, reviewing the establishment of the armed forces in 1939, the Arabization of the army leadership, the Battle of Karameh, the training and development that the armed forces received during the reign of the Founder King, and the technological modernization witnessed during the reign of His Majesty King Abdullah II, and the focus on military manufacturing after the establishment of the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau.
For her part, Professor Asma Jadallah Al-Khasawneh from Jadara University spoke about the first issue of the Hashemites, which is Holy Jerusalem and its important position in the thought and politics of the late Hussein, as he considered it an Arab and Islamic trust that cannot be compromised. She also reviewed the historical Hashemite role in caring for Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem, and the role of His Majesty King Abdullah II in supporting the people of Gaza through his diplomacy in international forums.
Professor Anwar Al-Khaldi from the History Department at Al al-Bayt University also reviewed the role of the Jordanian Armed Forces in global peace and security during the reign of His Majesty King Hussein bin Talal until the reign of His Majesty the Enhancer King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein.
For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professor Saeed Abu Khadr, affirmed the importance of this symposium in emphasizing the role of the university’s faculties and institutes in embodying the university’s mission and vision in enhancing national identity and examining the achievements inspired by the thought of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, the Great.
At the end of the symposium, the President of the University, Professor Osama Nusier, presented honorary certificates to the participants in the symposium in the presence of the Vice Presidents, Professor Ahmed Alawneh, Professor Marai Bani Khaled, and Professor Muhannad Akram, and members of the teaching staff at the Faculty of Arts and students of the Faculty.
