The Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Dr. Samer Al-Dallala, sponsored the seminar "The Rights and Obligations of the Trainee Lawyer," organized by the faculty to enrich the shared understanding of its students, with the presence of faculty members at Al-Bukhit Auditorium at the university. The Dean emphasized that the goal of the seminars and workshops held by the faculty is part of its ongoing activities during the semester, aimed at enhancing knowledge, comprehension, and interaction among students. He highlighted the necessity of their active participation in preparing workshops and lectures and engaging in practical applications that provide them with the necessary experience and training to enter the job market.

Professor of private law Dr. Abdullah Al-Sufani outlined that prospective graduates entering the legal profession must successfully complete the training period, noting that they have rights and obligations, including the mental and physical effort required to become a lawyer registered with the bar. He explained that it is not permissible to use the title of lawyer without attaching the word “trainee” or to open an office, and the importance of training on all legal cases, detailing the principles that the trainee must adhere to throughout the training period, such as being fully present with the supervising lawyer, exceeding the required number of cases to be pleaded during the training period, not pleading before appellate courts, and attending all seminars organized by the bar for trainees.

As for the rights stipulated by law for the trainee lawyer during the training period, they include benefiting from the cooperation fund for lawyers and obtaining health insurance after six months from the date of registration, as well as the right to plead before the courts.

Al-Sufani distinguished between the positions that can be combined with the legal profession, such as the presidency of the legislative authority, ministries, public government positions, various commercial activities, representing commercial companies, and chairing the board of directors.

At the end of the seminar, presented and moderated by Dr. Mohammed Al-Khalidi, a discussion enriched the lecture, during which questions and inquiries from the audience were addressed.
