The College of Arts and Humanities is hosting an orientation session for new students.
The Faculty of Arts and Humanities organized an introductory meeting for new students accepted for the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic year, held in the Bakhit Auditorium at the university.
On behalf of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Professor Dr. Sa'ed Abu Khader, Professor Dr. Anwar Al-Khalidi, the Deputy Dean for Administrative Affairs and Quality Assurance, met with the new students, conveying greetings from the university's President, Professor Dr. Osama Nasir, welcoming and congratulating them on their acceptance at Al al-Bayt University, a distinguished academic institution, wishing them tremendous success.
The meeting featured the participation of Professor Dr. Mahmoud Al-Daiky, the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mayson Al-Zghoul, the Assistant Dean, Dr. Nart Qakhoun, the Head of the Arabic Language Department, Dr. Khader Al-Sarhan, the Head of the History Department, Dr. Ayed Taran, the Head of the Applied Geography Department, and the representative from the Deanship of Student Affairs, Mr. Mohammad Al-Shwaqafa.
Dr. Al-Khalidi gave a brief overview of the college's history and development. He provided various guiding instructions to the students, emphasizing the importance of carefully reading university laws and regulations, developing communication and teamwork skills, knowing key references, and keeping up with scientific developments in their fields of study. He stressed the importance of active participation in extracurricular activities organized by the college and taking advantage of workshops and seminars held within it.
Al-Khalidi explained the importance of consulting specialists and faculty members whenever there are any inquiries or questions, indicating that the professors in the college are the primary reference for students regarding all matters related to their study materials and research.
The department heads at the college offered diverse insights aimed at introducing each academic department, its programs, and future plans. They focused on providing advice that students need in their academic lives, emphasizing the necessity of continuous communication between students, their teachers, and department heads.
Assistant Dean Dr. Mayson Al-Zghoul spoke about the student code of conduct and the implementation of its rules and regulations, stressing the importance of following the official university website as a primary reference for anything new related to students.
Furthermore, the representative from the Deanship of Student Affairs, Mr. Mohammad Al-Shwaqafta, discussed the system of penalties and the disciplinary system for students at Al al-Bayt University in case of violations of the rules and regulations, insisting on students adhering to the university's traditions and ethics, as well as the consequences of cheating or impersonating another student during examinations. He also touched on the repercussions of violating university policies and infringing on others' rights or tarnishing the university's reputation and manners, while expressing the Deanship of Student Affairs' support for student activities and interests, wishing them success and achievement.
This meeting, moderated by Dr. Anwar Al-Khalidi, included the department heads, college deputies, and assistants, several faculty members, as well as a large number of students, where an extensive dialogue ensued, during which department heads addressed the new students' questions and inquiries.
