Objectives and Values:

1. To prepare competent academic experts in geographic information systems (GIS) with the desire to pursue a career in the field, whether as distinguished technicians through the program or as capable researchers through the master's program, in line with the requirements and aspirations of the local and regional labor market.

2. To develop the geographic information system and academic training for specialists in remote sensing GIS, both within and outside the university, by keeping pace with the most important knowledge, technologies, and practices in geographic information sciences and related tourism fields.

3. To disseminate knowledge among industry and interested parties about the importance of GIS and its role in solving many complex problems within their teams, encouraging them to transition from traditional methods of handling spatial information to the creative methods and solutions that geographic information sciences can provide.

4. A scientific journal providing scientific, technical, and academic consultations, including to the general community, to address issues, resolve differences, and study various phenomena.

5. Support and develop the scientific and technical capabilities and skills of faculty members and technical and financial staff in the specialty by integrating them into continuing education programs and advanced courses.

6. Prepare teacher orientations, plans, and policies that focus on developing the college's academic and scientific level by applying local accreditation standards and specialized quality assurance requirements for science colleges.

7. Strengthen partnerships with the College of Earth Sciences and the Department of Earth Sciences.​
