Welcome to the homepage of the Applied Earth and Environmental Sciences Department at AABU. The Department offers both undergraduate and graduate programs (research-based Master degree). The number of students in the department for the academic year 2021/2022 is about 221 undergraduate students and 18 postgraduate students. The BSc. and MSc. degrees are awarded to the student after successfully completing 132 and 33 credit hours, respectively. The department has 9 faculty members of doctorate degree holders in applied earth and environmental sciences with various scientific levels. The department also includes 6 laboratory supervisors.

Due to the importance of the subjects studied by the student in this specialization and because of its direct impact on the human and the environment, this program is distinguished by its practical and applied sides. The main aim since its establishment is to train the students and qualify them in various geological and environmental fields, especially in the fields that are related directly to the geology and the environment of Jordan. Therefore, the Bachelor Program in Applied Earth and Environmental Sciences is an important applied program in Al al-Bayt University. The program provides the following subject areas: Minerals and Rocks, Industrial Minerals and Rocks, Applied Geochemistry, Structural Geology, Engineering Geology, Field Skills in Earth and Environmental Sciences, Geophysics, Hydrology and hydrogeology, Hydrochemistry, Sedimentology and Paleontology.
