The Relationship Between Architect and Environment and its Implementation in Architecture and Urban Fabric

Abstract: This paper discusses how architects deal with different architectural elements to face various environmental conditions. It proposes that architects who want to fulfill such purposes must understand different phenomenon of the universe. It shows that only those architects who have a totalitarian ideology can initiate balanced relationship with the environment and the various cosmic phenomena. The paper presents some examples of architectural elements which had been introduced by Muslim architects throughout history; such elements were a result of the mutual and balanced relationship between Muslim architects and natural and environmental phenomenon.
