The Center for Women's Studies holds a consultative meeting to empower women in Mafraq

Embodying the university's vision of openness to the local community and networking with its institutions, the Center for Women's Studies at Al al-Bayt University organized a consultative meeting with civil society institutions represented by associations interested in women's affairs in Mafraq governorate to strengthen cooperation and coordination with this sector. The meeting was chaired, on behalf of the university president, by Prof. Bassam Al-Mahasneh, Vice President for Quality and Planning Affairs, who confirmed that women have a great role in raising the next generation, and it is our duty to stand by and support them in all fields, especially the economic field. He added that the university is about to open the permanent exhibition hall in the near future, which will serve women by marketing their products through a symbolic fee, and there will be a series of services that the university will provide to empower women.

The head of the Union of Charitable Societies in Mafraq Governorate, Maddallah Al-Khalidi, stressed the need to empower women in Mafraq socially and economically so that they can play their role in the family and society in light of the consequences of the Syrian refugee and the Corona pandemic.

Director of the Center for Women's Studies, Dr. Bayan AlMadi, explained the importance of this meeting to advance the sector of charitable and cooperative societies for the better and to network with government institutions for the advancement of women in economic, cultural, social and other fields.

The consultative meeting was attended by a large number of heads of charitable societies and activists in the local community of Mafraq Governorate, where many of them demanded the necessity of incubating and marketing their productive projects at all levels in order to sustain community service in the Governorate.
