The Faculty of Arts and Humanities celebrates the Spanish Language Day

The Department of Modern Languages at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, in attendance of the Dean, Prof. Mohammad Al-Khatib, celebrated the Spanish Language Day, which is usually held to commemorate the Spanish writer Miguel Cervantes, author of the most famous literary novel Don Quixote de la Mancha.

The ceremony included many activities performed by students of the Spanish language, such as songs, theatrical sketches, and competitions, which showed an effective and enjoyable side for students of this language and the ability to apply it within the boundaries of specialization, university and life instead of adhering to only the theoretical side of the discipline.

It is worth noting that the Department of Modern Languages has been celebrating the Spanish Language Day since 2015 in an attempt to urge students to literary and linguistic creativity outside the framework of lectures and to develop the specialization of Spanish and English languages, which led to providing the students with the opportunity for a cultural exchange within the Erasmus Plus program and the signing of many agreements between Al al-Bayt University and Spanish universities such as the University of Santiago de Compostela, Seville and Almeria.
