The Faculty of Educational Sciences and Princess Basma Center hold a guidance workshop

Within the framework of its community and awareness-raising role, and its keenness to strengthen communication with local community institutions, Al al-Bayt University, specifically the Department of Psychological Sciences and Special Education, in partnership with the Princess Basma Center, organized a guidance and awareness workshop entitled "Psychosocial Support and Promoting Mental Health for Women." This workshop was held at the Princess Basma Center, with the participation of thirty women from the local community. The workshop activities were presented by Dr. Rana Hussein Al-Amoush from Al al-Bayt University.

The organization of this workshop stemmed from the importance of promoting awareness of mental and social health among women, and a belief in their essential role in the family and society, as well as the necessity of providing awareness and guidance spaces that help them understand their psychological and social needs, and enhance their abilities to deal with various life pressures and challenges in positive and healthy ways.

The workshop discussed the concept of psychosocial support and its importance in enhancing women's sense of safety, belonging, and appreciation, and its role in helping them overcome difficulties and challenges through social support, positive communication, and the exchange of experiences. Emphasis was placed on the importance of a supportive environment that allows women to express their feelings and needs without fear of judgment or criticism.

In another aspect, the workshop focused on enhancing self-confidence and self-esteem by raising participants' awareness of the importance of recognizing their personal abilities and potential, identifying their strengths and successes, promoting a positive self-image, and avoiding negative comparisons that may affect women's appreciation of their value and potential.

The workshop was not limited to providing theoretical information but relied on a set of guidance and interactive methods, including dialogue and group discussion, brainstorming, exchange of life experiences, and presenting realistic situations and discussing ways to deal with them. This allowed participants the opportunity to interact, ask questions, express their opinions, and benefit from shared experiences in an atmosphere characterized by cooperation, respect, and communication.

At the conclusion of the workshop, emphasis was placed on the importance of continuing to implement such meetings and guidance and awareness programs targeting women, due to their role in spreading psychological culture, enhancing community awareness, and developing life and social skills that help women face challenges and improve their quality of life.

This workshop is part of Al al-Bayt University's (Faculty of Educational Sciences) endeavors to enhance its social responsibility, activate the role of the Department of Psychological Sciences and Special Education in providing scientific and guidance expertise to serve the local community, and strengthen cooperation and partnership with the Princess Basma Center and community institutions, thereby contributing to the implementation of quality programs that respond to community needs and promote the mental and social health of its members.
