The First Scientific Day for Respiratory Therapy at Al al-Bayt University


The Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences organized the first scientific day for respiratory therapy with the participation of a selection of specialists in the public and private sectors.


Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dr. Muhammad Nazzal, affirmed the Faculty's keenness to keep pace with the rapid developments in the local and global health sector and the pivotal role of the respiratory therapist after proving their competence during successive global health crises, pointing to the Faculty's commitment to qualifying its staff with theoretical knowledge, applied and research skills to distinguish its graduates in the labor market, as this event comes to extend bridges of communication between students and experts and exchange visions on lung functions and modern respiratory techniques.


Dr. Islam Al-Khazali presented a scientific lecture in which he discussed the role of the respiratory therapist in light of modern medical technologies, while Dr. Faten Al-Tahami discussed the topic of pulmonary rehabilitation, and Dr. Zaid Al-Khatib from the University of Science and Technology presented a lecture on the role of the respiratory therapy specialist in lung function tests.


In turn, Dr. Yasmine Abu Smaqqa presented a lecture on intensive care and respiratory therapy, while Dr. Shaimaa Muhammad Ali presented a lecture on the role of the respiratory therapist in emergency cases, and respiratory therapy students Shatha Awad, Shahd Muhammad, and Lin Al-Zaghl presented valuable excerpts on the best artificial intelligence techniques in respiratory therapy.


Head of the Department of Supporting Medical Sciences, Dr. Abdullah Al-Amoush, highlighted the importance of this scientific day in the practical training of students and equipping them with the necessary skills and experiences to compete in the labor market and learn about everything new in respiratory therapy techniques.


On the sidelines of the scientific day, a medical exhibition was held featuring the most important tools and equipment for respiratory therapy, in which many public and private medical entities participated.


At the conclusion of the scientific day, which was managed by a selection of students from the department, namely Baraa Aziz, Hussein Bahnassi, Yara Jalal, Laith Al-Sheikh, and Imad Al-Khawaldeh, the Dean of the Faculty presented certificates of appreciation to those who participated in the success of the scientific day.
