The Center of Excellence for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Al al-Bayt University organized the activities of the Innovation Marathon on Monday, December 22, 2025, within the "Ideas Towards Innovation - Minaret of the North" program on the university campus, in cooperation between the Northern Entrepreneurship Network (through the Mosaawa Center for Local Community Development, the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development - JOHUD, and the Center of Excellence for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Al al-Bayt University) and Ebtekar Consulting Company. This comes within the framework of the Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Economic Development and Employment (E4DE) project implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, and jointly funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union, with the aim of enhancing sustainable job opportunities in Jordan.

The marathon witnessed wide participation from university students and members of the local community with entrepreneurial ideas, in addition to individuals who need support in developing their ideas and transforming them into viable projects.

The marathon aims to promote the culture of entrepreneurship and innovation in the governorates of Mafraq and Jerash, and to open the way for young people to develop innovative solutions to address real local challenges in vital sectors, including: agricultural technology, tourism, enabled information technology, and energy.

The marathon included intensive interactive sessions to generate ideas, build work teams, and formulate initial prototypes of projects, in addition to guiding participants towards applying for the advanced training camp that extends for four days during the period from January 4-7, 2026, which includes three specialized mentoring sessions, and support for developing prototypes and accessing funding opportunities, in addition to providing the opportunity to present projects to investors during the National Presentation Day.

This activity is part of the continuous efforts made by Al al-Bayt University through the Center of Excellence for Innovation and Entrepreneurship to empower young people and promote a stimulating entrepreneurial environment that contributes to achieving sustainable economic development and providing real job opportunities in the north of the Kingdom.​
