A scientific visit to the water treatment plant at the university for the Department of Applied Geography

The Department of Applied Geography at Al al-Bayt University organized a scientific visit today, Sunday, December 21, 2025, to the water treatment plant at the university, under the supervision of Dr. Atef Al-Ghmeed and Dr. Bashar Khawalde, for students of the Water Resources and Management course and the Geography of the Arab World course, respectively.

The visit aimed to enhance students' understanding of the mechanism of the water treatment plant, to identify the stages of water treatment inside the plant, and to explain the most important uses of treated water at the university after the treatment process is completed. Engineer Abdullah Al-Husban also provided a detailed explanation of the physical, chemical, and biological methods of wastewater treatment.

The engineering department team also took the students on a field tour to view the plant's infrastructure and learn about the practical aspects of the wastewater treatment plant inside the university.

This visit is part of the efforts of the Department of Applied Geography, represented by the Head of the Department, Dr. Maisoun Al-Zughoul, to enhance the applied aspect of the Water Resources and Management course and the Geography of the Arab World course, and to link theoretical knowledge with practical application, and to enable students to understand modern technologies in water resources management.​
