Student debate on "The Political Perspective of Jordanian Women" at the Wisdom House College of Political Science and International Studies

The Al-Bayt University's Beit Al-Hikma College of Political Science and International Studies organized a student debate on the role of Jordanian women in political life, with the participation of a number of college students, in the presence of the Dean, faculty members, and students.

At the beginning of the debate, the Dean of the College, Professor Ahed Abu Dheeb, affirmed that Jordanian women have been an active element in society since the establishment of the Jordanian state. With the development of political awareness, the advancement of education, and the enactment of legislation that granted women the right to run and vote, women have reached decision-making positions, and their role has become a fundamental pillar in the political reform process. He added that empowering women politically does not mean granting them special privileges, but rather it is a step towards achieving political justice and ensuring equal opportunities for all citizens.

For his part, the Head of the Political Science Department, Professor Muhammad Daradka, affirmed that this debate comes within the college's vision of activating the role of students in holding seminars and debates, relying on digital data, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and brainstorming for college students, considering them the محور of change within the university and society.

Students Khaled Walid Qassem and Retaj Al-Sharafaat presented their vision on the political perspective of women in Jordan and their societal and political empowerment, supporting their opinions with statistics and figures. A broad dialogue then took place with college students between supporters and opponents.

Student Yara Al-Dabaybeh presented her research entitled "The Role of Feminist Movements in Influencing International Policymaking," and student Lama Samara presented her research on "Feminist Theory in International Relations and its Role in Approaching Global Politics."

At the end of the meeting, which was moderated by student Hadeel Ashab, an extensive dialogue took place between the students on the subject of the debate.
