Dean of Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah Faculty of Information Technology and Director of the Computer Center, during the field visit organized by the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission to Aqaba Digital Hub.
The Dean of the Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah Faculty of Information Technology, Professor Dr. Mohammed Issa Riad Al-Jaradat, and the Director of the Computer Center, Dr. Wael Waheed Qassas, participated in the field visit organized by the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Authority to the Aqaba Digital Hub. The participation came within a delegation that included deans of information technology colleges and representatives of Jordanian universities, in the presence of the Vice President of the Authority, Dr. Saad Bani Muhammad, and the Assistant President, Dr. Fida Al-Tamimi.
The visit began with an official meeting held at the Aqaba University of Technology, where the President of the University, Professor Dr. Muhammad Hassan Al-Washah, welcomed the members of the delegation and guests. The meeting with the Vice President of the Authority, Professor Dr. Saad Aqleh Bani Muhammad, included in-depth discussions on the development of digital academic programs, enhancing practical training opportunities for students in partnership with the public and private sectors, in addition to emphasizing the importance of students obtaining micro-certificates, and the need for faculty members in the information technology sector to obtain professional certificates to keep pace with rapid technological developments.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the delegation made a field visit to the Aqaba Digital City to view the technical infrastructure facilities and available digital services, in addition to learning about the most prominent pioneering projects supporting the national digital transformation process. The city team also presented technical presentations dealing with the mechanisms for operating digital platforms, and the opportunities that Jordanian universities can benefit from in the fields of education and scientific research.
