Ministry of Culture in cooperation with Al al-Bayt University organize the "Reading for All" festival
On behalf of His Excellency Professor Osama Nusier, President of Al al-Bayt University, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Professor Saeed Abu Khader, inaugurated the activities of the "Reading for All - Jordanian Family Library" festival in its nineteenth session, which was organized in cooperation with the Mafraq Culture Directorate, in the Granada Hall at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Al al-Bayt University.
Dr. Saeed Abu Khader affirmed that Al al-Bayt University believes that the university's role is not limited to education and scientific research, but extends to being an active partner in spreading cultural awareness and instilling the habit of reading in the hearts of students. He added that this festival is a national event that aims to make culture a right available to every citizen, and to establish reading as a daily act that enhances identity, deepens belonging, and nourishes awareness. It also represents an opportunity for students to deepen their love for books and build solid bridges between the reader and the writer.
Abu Khader valued the efforts of the Ministry of Culture and its constant commitment to the continuation of this national project, which allows all citizens in various governorates to view the fruits of Jordanian, Arab, and international thought at symbolic prices and high intellectual quality. He also praised the role of the Mafraq Culture Directorate in activating the cultural scene in the governorate.
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Culture launched today, Sunday, 2/11/2025, in the capital, Amman, and all governorates of the Kingdom, the activities of the nineteenth session of the Reading for All Festival, "Jordanian Family Library," which is one of the pioneering national cultural programs implemented by the Ministry, and aims to encourage reading, acquiring books, and establishing a library in every home.
The exhibition included books in the fields of human knowledge, civilizational history, studies in Arab-Islamic heritage, literature and arts, science and technology, and politics and economics, in addition to studies in Jordanian heritage and books for children and youth, which are titles that enrich the mind and soul, in an elegant edition and symbolic prices ranging between (25) piasters for children's books and (35) piasters for adult books. The festival continues until Thursday, 6/11/2025.
The opening was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences, Professor Youssef Miqdadi, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Dr. Ayman Al-Taani, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Professor Muntha Al-Harahsheh, and a number of heads of departments in the faculty and members of the academic and administrative staff at the university, in addition to a group of interested people.
The exhibition also witnessed a large turnout from university students, as it was organized by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in cooperation with the Mafraq Culture Directorate.
