Completion of the Omani Cultural Days activities at Al al-Bayt University
The Omani Cultural Days activities concluded on their final day at Al al-Bayt University, organized by the Omani Research and Studies Center at the university and attended by the Director of the Center, Professor Dr. Muhammad Bani Khaled. Professor Dr. Anas Abu Atta, Dean of the Faculty of Sharia at the university, presented a scientific lecture entitled "Insights into the Making of Fatwa in the Sultanate of Oman," in which he explained the origin of the Ibadi school of thought, noting that it began through its association with the eminent scholar Jaber bin Zaid, who is the first founder of the school. He added that Abdullah bin Ibadh was one of his most brilliant students, and therefore the school was attributed to him. Dr. Abu Atta also pointed out that the sources of legislation for the Ibadi school are like those of other schools of thought, based on the agreed-upon sources of the Holy Quran, the Prophetic Sunnah, consensus, analogy, and other sources in which there is disagreement. He also clarified that this school of thought, in its jurisprudential rulings and Sharia details, is very much in agreement with the rulings of other schools of thought.
The activities of the Omani Cultural Days, managed by Dr. Bayan Al-Madi, also included a visit to the "My Identity" exhibition, the exhibition of the Omani Ministry of Tourism and Heritage at the Center of Excellence, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and the exhibition of the Center's publications and Omani manuscripts in the Prince Al-Hassan Amphitheater.
At the University of Jordan, in the Faculty of Sharia, in the Al-Khayyat Amphitheater, a scientific lecture was held in which the Director of the Department of Committees and External Relations at the Office of the Mufti in the Sultanate of Oman, Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Ahmed bin Hamad Al-Khalili, presented a scientific lecture on "The Jurisprudential Rulings of Omani Architecture."
