Participants in the First Scientific Conference on Nursing and Applied Medical Sciences: Innovation and Challenges continue to present their scientific papers

The participants in the Nursing and Applied Medical Sciences Conference, Innovation and Challenges, organized by Al al-Bayt University, continued their activities amidst a wide academic and research presence from all universities and institutions related to the health and medical sector, concurrently in the Hussein bin Ali Amphitheater and the Al-Hassan bin Talal Amphitheater inside the university campus.


The conference continued with scientific momentum and quality discussions of scientific participations and rich academic discussions, with the participation of researchers and academics from various Jordanian universities and health institutions within Al al-Bayt University's efforts to enhance scientific research and develop health education in light of the search for solutions to the obstacles facing the sector.


In the first discussion session entitled "Health Practice and Practice of Health Professions in Jordan: Reality and Aspirations," which featured Professor Hani Al-Nawafleh, Secretary-General of the Jordanian Nursing Council, Professor Muntha Gharaybeh from the Jordan University of Science and Technology, Dr. Alia Al-Sayeh, Head of the Health Professions Licensing Department at the Ministry of Health, and Dr. Majd Jarar, President of the Occupational Therapy Society, discussions were held on the regulations and legislation pertaining to health professions in Jordan. The practice exams and profession-specific exams were also discussed, as well as license renewal and the role of health councils, unions, and associations in evaluating the services provided by health professions in Jordan.


In the scientific session, which confirms the importance of scientific research and knowledge as essential pillars for the development of the health sector, these sessions reflect diversity in topics, richness in experiences, depth in analysis, and open the field for ideas and practices based on scientific evidence. The session highlighted the latest scientific developments, discussed research and application challenges, and promoted integration between science and professional practice.


Also, the scientific sessions of the First Scientific Conference in Nursing and Applied Medical Sciences continued in the Prince Al-Hassan Amphitheater at the Faculty of Engineering, chaired by Dr. Firas Takatka. The researcher Yaqin Al-Rajoub presented a research paper on the mutation of the genetic biomarker in nasopharyngeal videos. Dr. Shireen Hamadeh discussed the topic of health care for pregnant and lactating women and children in wars and disasters. Dr. Muhammad Darabseh from the University of Jordan discussed the topic of physical therapy and its role in quitting smoking. Dr. Laith Bdarneh presented a research paper on the evaluation of different radiation doses to the brain. Dr. Fatima Bani Salama from Al al-Bayt University presented a research paper on the role of the sleep hormone as a preventive treatment for memory loss in people suffering from chronic sleep apnea. The researcher Maryam Ghazu discussed the topic of physical activities for wheelchair users, while the researcher Sirin Amayreh discussed the topic of quality of life and health outcomes for patients with acquired immunodeficiency in Jordan. The researchers Raneem Haif and Tasneem Sara presented a research paper on the effects of a cancer diagnosis on patients and their families. The researcher from the University of Jordan, Banan Qardahji, discussed the effect of miswak on oral and dental health, its benefits, and the active ingredients in it. The researchers Leen Safi and Bassam Al-Nahhush presented a research paper discussing the psychological and physical effects of drinking large amounts of coffee among health professionals in Jordan. The researchers Haya Al-Hadrami and Ghadeer Zaidan from the Faculty of Information Technology at Al al-Bayt University discussed the topic of predicting the likelihood of recurrence of thyroid cancer.​
