Representing Her Royal Highness Princess Muna Al Hussein, Al-Maaita opens the first scientific conference in nursing and applied medical sciences innovation.
Representing Her Royal Highness Princess Muna Al Hussein, and in the presence of the University President, Professor Osama Nusair, and a number of senior officials and stakeholders in the Jordanian nursing sector, Her Excellency Dr. Ruweida Al-Maaita inaugurated the activities of the First Scientific Conference in Nursing and Applied Medical Sciences, under the title: "Innovation and Challenges," with wide participation from Jordanian universities and related institutions.
The conference activities kicked off in Al-Hussein bin Ali Amphitheater at the university, with the aim of emphasizing the importance of facing the challenges facing the nursing and medical sciences sector, in addition to highlighting the latest innovations in this vital field.
Her Excellency Dr. Ruweida Al-Maaita, the Princess's representative, conveyed Her Highness's greetings to all university staff and referred to the efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II in directing the higher education sector, especially with regard to health specialties. She also presented important insights into the reality of the nursing and medical sciences sector in Jordan, stressing the importance of keeping pace with scientific and technological developments to face current challenges, noting the importance of the conference title in light of what the world and societies are facing today.
She also called for the need to generalize these topics in our curricula, so that the future is better, in light of the development of medical and health science programs, the digital and technological renaissance, and artificial intelligence. She pointed out the importance of faculty members and students in nursing and health specialties having an active role in building the nation, by improving the quality of services and care provided to patients, which contributes to the progress and prosperity of the nation.
For his part, the President of the University, Professor Osama Nusair, expressed the University's pride in hosting this first scientific conference, referring to the supreme royal vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II, who pays great attention to the health and education sectors, in the belief of His Majesty in preserving human dignity and achieving sustainable development in our dear country.
He also pointed to the efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein in supporting the Royal Medical Services, and the prominent humanitarian role it plays in relief and support for our people in Palestine and Gaza. He also drew attention to the efforts of Her Royal Highness Princess Muna Al Hussein in establishing the Jordanian Nursing Council, and her continuous support for the health, health education and nursing sectors, which embodies the depth of commitment to the nursing profession in Jordan.
Nusair stated that holding this conference affirms the University's commitment to continuing its pioneering role in supporting scientific research and promoting innovation in the fields of nursing and applied medical sciences, and the necessity of cooperation between academic institutions and the health sector to face health challenges and improve the quality of medical care in Jordan and the region as a whole.
He added that the current conference is the result of sincere efforts and fruitful cooperation between the Faculties of Nursing and Applied Medical Sciences, and highlights the most prominent applications and challenges facing practitioners and academic and research institutions, which enhances the exchange of experiences, encourages cooperation between universities, and reflects positively on the quality of education, to form a solid educational platform for global experiences in health sciences.
Dean of Princess Salma Bint Abdullah Faculty of Nursing, Professor Muhammad Al-Brahma, confirmed that this conference represents an important milestone in the university's journey towards scientific excellence, and embodies the university's commitment to promoting an environment of research and innovation and anticipating the future of health professions.
The Dean of the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, Dr. Muhammad Nazzal, confirmed that the university believes that innovation in health sciences can only be achieved through openness to other disciplines, and the promotion of participatory work between various health personnel. He pointed out that the conference reflects this trend, and embodies the keenness to join forces in facing health and societal challenges, adding that the university believes in the importance of preparing medical personnel who care about and care for their community, as it believes in an active partnership with the relevant national institutions.
In the first session of the conference sessions, the Director of Field Medicine in the Royal Medical Services, Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Sbeihat, presented a scientific paper in which he reviewed the efforts of the Royal Medical Services, and affirmed the importance of medical and health support for our people in Palestine, and provided an overview in numbers of the services that were provided, noting that Palestine and its people are the closest to us, and that providing support to them is a national and humanitarian duty.
He indicated that the Royal Medical Services established medical stations distributed in the Palestinian territories, treated, received and performed surgical operations, transplanted limbs, provided medicines, and carried out medical evacuations for more than one million cases in various specialties, praising the prominent humanitarian role of the Medical Services in this context.
A health sciences exhibition was also launched, and Al-Maaita honored the participants in the conference from the presenters of scientific papers, by distributing commemorative shields, and the President of the University, Professor Osama Nusair, presented an honorary gift to the representative of the conference sponsor.
