A scientific seminar on the history of Jordan organized by the Language Center and the History Department at Al al-Bayt University.
The Language Center at Al al-Bayt University organized a scientific seminar entitled "The History of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan: The lineage of the Hashemites - the Emirate of Transjordan, Jordanian tribes and clans - Mafraq: History and Civilization" for Malaysian students and interested students in the Language Center in Al-Bukheet Amphitheater. The speakers were Professor Anwar Al-Khaldi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities for Administrative Affairs and Quality Assurance, Head of the History Department Dr. Khader Al-Sarhan, and the coordinator of the seminar from the Language Center, Dr. Marwa Al-Batayneh.
Al-Khaldi presented an interesting paper at the seminar on the history of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, talking about genealogy and the lineage of the Hashem family, and the Hashemites' retention of the leadership of the Quraysh dynasty as the vanguard of society in the Hijaz, as a moral elite and people of political and economic administration, and their acquisition of the appreciation and respect of visitors to the Holy Mosque. He also spoke about the Hashemites leading the Great Arab Revolt in 1916, the first step towards independence and building a unified state. He spoke about the Hashemites' close connection with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan since the establishment of the Emirate and their role in the Kingdom's renaissance and civilization to this day.
In turn, Al-Sarhan referred to introducing the city of Mafraq, its origins, its border and geographical location, and the archaeological sites in it before and after Christ. He also spoke about the tribes and clans, the social component, and the interconnected social fabric of Muslims and Christians in Mafraq, the administrative divisions from governorate, districts, and sub-districts, and the archaeological landmarks in it as an ancient city with the establishment of the Kingdom.
Dr. Marwa spoke about the leading role of volunteer institutions in Jordan in developing skills and about the role, vision, and recommendations of the Hashemites in paying attention to and supporting these institutions, and the role of Jordanian youth in volunteer work. She presented success stories of volunteer students by integrating them into the university and local community, talking about their experiences and successes in this volunteer work. Al-Batayneh urged the Malaysian students to engage in Jordanian society, interact with them, and exchange cultures among themselves, and encouraged them to do volunteer work, especially since they are in their second country, welcoming them as dear sons and students.
At the end of the seminar, which was managed and presented by Miss Mais Al-Amoush from the Language Center and attended by the Director of the Center, Dr. Youssef Al-Dalabeeh, his assistants, and a group of faculty, administrative staff, and students in the college, there was an extensive dialogue and discussion between the panelists and the audience, and the exchange of memorial photos among them.
