Nusair sponsors the scientific day for the Faculty of Sharia at Al al-Bayt University
On behalf of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Osama Nusair, the Vice President of the University for Academic and Engineering Affairs, Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Alaونة, sponsored the scientific day of the Faculty of Sharia, which was entitled "The Status of Jordan in Islam and Islamic Civilization," with the participation of a number of specialists and the attendance of a number of interested people, faculty members and students, in the Prince Hassan bin Talal Amphitheater at the Faculty of Engineering.
In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Sharia, Professor Dr. Anas Abu Atta, explained that Al al-Bayt University, with its long history and global mission, is proud to hold such scientific events, stressing that this day expresses the rooting and consolidation of our love, pride and belonging to this country. He also pointed to the importance of talking about belonging to the land and the homeland and the status of Jordan in human civilizations, citing the words of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in praise of Al-Sham and its people, and God’s saying in the firm scripture: “And We blessed around it,” considering that Jordan is an integral part of this blessed extension, as it combines the religious and cultural heritage extending from Aden to Al-Balqa.
Abu Atta spoke about Jordan's historical depth in Islamic civilization, noting that the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, referred to this country in his hadiths, and recalling the historical names of the companions of the Messenger of God who passed through Jordan during their missionary journey.
In his speech, Dr. Noah Al-Faqir dealt with the historical and Islamic sites in Jordan, from its north to its south, explaining that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, passed through some of them during his trip to Al-Sham. Al-Faqir also reviewed how Islam entered Jordan, and the places where the companions were born and buried, pointing to the sites of their shrines and maqams, and to the scientific schools that were named after them. He also referred to the scholars whose names were associated with the cities and villages of Jordan, explaining their scientific and missionary journey. Al-Faqir concluded his speech by stressing the need to redouble scientific and legal efforts to discover more about this ancient civilization.
For his part, Dr. Yosha Al-Omari, Director of Technical Affairs at the Jordan Museum, spoke about the contribution of Jordan and Jordanians to human civilization throughout history. He gave an explanation about the discovery of the Ain Ghazal site in Amman, which is a testament to the development and richness of Jordanian society in the production of natural materials and statues, stressing that Jordan was and still is a developed society capable of achieving civilizational achievements that surpass many other civilization centers.
Al-Omari also spoke about the Baptism Site, the Dead Sea, Christian churches, shrines, and the most important places where water gathered that the companions and previous nations passed through. He touched on a material description of some of the archaeological treasures and historical sites that the Kingdom is rich in, pointing to the historical extension of Jordan over more than ten thousand years. He also reviewed the manifestations of human stability in the northeastern desert, the development of religious rituals, the use of fire, and the manufacture of bread, and presented a description of the history of the tribes of eastern Jordan in the sixteenth century AD, talking about the tools used in the production of stone and sugar. Al-Omari concluded his speech by stressing that "our deep roots in history are what protect our land today."
At the conclusion of the scientific day, Professor Dr. Anas Abu Atta, on behalf of the President of the University, presented the University Shield to the two honored guests in honor of their participation in this scientific day.
