The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mohafezah, meets with the presidents of Jordanian public universities and discusses digitization processes and the use of artificial intelligence in teaching various disciplines.
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Azmi Mohafezah, met with the presidents of Jordanian public universities in the Higher Education Council Hall, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Ministry, Dr. Mamoun Al-Dabai.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Mohafezah welcomed the attendees, congratulating them on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. Then, the Secretary-General of the Ministry / Chairman of the Financial Committee in the Higher Education Council, Dr. Mamoun Al-Dabai, presented a detailed explanation of the mechanisms and standards that were followed in distributing the government support that will be provided to universities in the year 2025.
During the meeting, the necessity of amending a number of the universities’ internal regulations was also discussed, in a way that positively reflects on the financial situation of the universities. The mechanisms necessary to keep pace with the digitization processes within the universities were also discussed, especially the introduction of artificial intelligence in teaching various disciplines within the universities and not only the disciplines of the faculties of information technology. In addition to the need to cooperate and respond to everything issued by the National Council for Future Technology, Minister Mohafezah presented an explanation of the council’s work plan and the requirements of work in the education and higher education sector.
During the meeting, the universities' implementation of the recommendations recently approved by the Higher Education Council related to combating tobacco and smoking on campus was also discussed.
The meeting was attended by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research by: Mr. Shadi Masaadeh, Director of the Secretariat of the Higher Education Council, and Mr. Muhannad Al-Khatib, Media Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Director of the Unified Admission Coordination Unit.
