Discussion of the final proposals for the development project of the Roman Barakah area in the municipality of Bani Obeid.

In continuation of Al al-Bayt University's role in developing the local community, the final proposals for the development project of the Roman Pool area in the municipality of Bani Obaid were discussed today. This was attended by the university president, Professor Osama Nusair, the mayor of Bani Obaid, Engineer Jamal Abu Obaid, and the dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Muayed Shawqafah. 

The students presented analytical and design models for a park covering an area of 9 dunams, focusing on simulating the Roman character inspired by the region's history and reflecting it in the current reality. 

After reviewing the projects nominated for the final stage to select one design for implementation, the mayor of Bani Obaid, Engineer Jamal Abu Obaid, praised the proposed projects that considered the nature of the region's cultural heritage and its needs, reflecting the aspirations of the local community. He expressed his gratitude to Al al-Bayt University and the Department of Architecture in the Faculty of Engineering for this achievement and appreciated the students' efforts in presenting these distinguished designs. 

For his part, the university president, Professor Osama Nusair, confirmed the continued cooperation between Al al-Bayt University and the municipality of Bani Obaid through discussions of future plans, emphasizing the university's role in serving local communities, which has been one of its main objectives since its establishment. 

In this context, Dr. Rami Al-Shawabkeh, head of the Department of Architecture and the main supervisor of the proposed projects, explained that the designs presented met the needs of the Bani Obaid municipality, as they considered aspects related to sustainable design for public parks, including service and recreational areas that serve the local community.​
