The second job fair for the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Al al-Bayt University.
The Faculty of Foreign Languages at the university organized a second job fair for the college students in collaboration with the Language Institute of the Jordanian Armed Forces, "the Arab Army," with the aim of raising student awareness about the importance of learning foreign languages. The college is keen to implement its plans and fulfill its role, mission, and future vision that align with the university's strategies and philosophy, and in response to the needs of students, preparing them and refining their personalities, and developing their skills to optimally prepare them to enter the labor market in a way that meets their ambitions and responsibilities. This event took place in the Bukhit Auditorium at the university.
The Dean of the college, Professor Dr. Muhammad Al-Khateeb, noted that this event is organized out of the college's commitment to the university's social responsibility to raise awareness among students about the available job fields and to enhance their understanding of communication and openness to the labor market, as well as to familiarize them with national institutions that care about languages, representing a model of true partnership between the university and the Jordanian Armed Forces. He emphasized the necessity for job seekers to possess a spirit of initiative, and to acquire the necessary experiences, skills, and knowledge.
The commander of the Language Institute, Colonel Ghassan Al-Ma'aytah, stated, "The Armed Forces have always recognized their need for languages early on, which led to the incorporation of all languages into the institute. He pointed out that teaching languages is a national necessity and affirmed the institute's role in developing and teaching languages as communication skills, and the country's need for them in the fields of defense industries and international participation which require knowledge and mastery of languages, indicating that anyone seeking to excel in learning a foreign language must distinguish themselves academically in order to seize that opportunity.
Captain Ali Al-Naan'a, the head of the English language department, also presented an introduction about the department, along with its teaching methods and the levels it offers in three stages: foundational, intermediate, and advanced. He detailed the courses, their duration, daily sessions, and the curricula used in teaching, translation, and teacher qualification.
Captain Mohannad Al-Shawabkeh, head of the French language department, spoke about the importance of the French language for learners as a strength after completing university studies, outlining the requirements for applicants to the institute. He stated that excellence, knowledge, and proficiency in the French language contribute to creating numerous future opportunities.
Captain Abdullah Al-Zyoud from the Spanish language department questioned why Spanish is taught and how it is promoted in the institute, discussing its relevance as a language used in over twenty countries, while addressing the need to learn the language and the skills taught in the institute.
In a related context, the university president, Professor Dr. Osama Nusair, received Colonel Ghassan Al-Ma'aytah, the commander of the Language Institute, along with the accompanying delegation. During the meeting, Nusseir, in the presence of Dean of Foreign Languages, Professor Dr. Muhammad Al-Khateeb, highlighted the deep relationship between the university and national and military institutions, foremost of which is the Armed Forces, underscoring the necessity of collaboration and partnership in the future to organize foreign language teaching.
At the conclusion of the job fair, which was attended by the vice dean, department heads, professors, and students, the university president's representative, Professor Dr. Al-Khateeb, and Colonel Al-Ma'aytah, honored the university team that participated in the global English language Olympiad for universities under the theme (National Heritage), organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, in which they received awards for scientific research and community service.
